The Day of the Wedding

We are really eager to spend our big day with you in such a beautiful setting. We would like to give you an idea of what to expect so that you can enjoy the wedding without any worries.

Attire

The official term is "dressy casual", which covers a broad range of clothing options. While we want our guests to wear what is comfortable, we would prefer guests to avoid jeans or shorts. Sun dresses, polo shirts, and other casual attire are welcome. Men, you can expect a high five from Ryan if you wear a light summer suit but it is not required or expected.

Ladies, be aware that the entire location is unpaved. You will need to walk on grass so please choose shoes accordingly.

Dining & Reception

After the ceremony and cocktail hour, our guests will be served a family style gourmet dinner with an emphasis on locally sourced foods. While we will serve options with meat, vegetarians will enjoy a full range of options, including entrees. If you have any food allergies you would like us to be aware of, please include this information when you RSVP or contact us directly.

Our reception will feature live blues music and will wrap up around 11:00pm

Weather

It will not rain. Right? Right? The average temperature near Bridal Veil in July is 67. Though it will likely be somewhat warm (expect a high in the upper seventies) during the day, guests are encouraged to bring an extra layer for the inevitable temperature drop after sunset. July is historically the driest month of the year. In the event of rain, we will hold as much of the ceremony and reception as possible under tents and the on-site pavilion.

TEXT UPDATES: If you would like to receive updates the week before the wedding regarding weather and local events, e-mail ourportlandwedding@gmail.com and include your name and cell phone number. This is only for text message updates so you will still need to RSVP with the mother of the bride.

Accessibility

Bridal Veil is a natural setting and, as such, there are some areas that may be difficult for elderly or disabled guests. We would love to provide assistance to any of our guests. Please let Janine know when you RSVP that you may want assistance.
